A couple of days, Google has launched its largest Android OS release ever since 2008, named Android 5.0 Lollipop!!
This new Android update will make changes in every aspect of OS, gives a new design, runtime, and battery life and also with a lot more features when compared to its previous versions.
The same day, Google has also released Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 that supports the first ever device – Android TV, the Nexus Player.
Basically Android 5.0 “Lollipop” is the latest version of Mobile OS developed by Google and it has been released on November 3, 2014. But as for now, the update is limited only to specific devices includes Nexus and Google Play devices.
Android 5.0 Features
This new OS gave way for an improved notification system. Now, the notifications can be accessed even from the lock screens and it will be displayed across the top of the screen in a large banner format within other apps. A do-no-disturb feature is also included in the notifications.
The all new Android Lollipop is also told to optimize the battery consumption namely “Project Volta”. The so called “material design” by Google takes its own personality in fitting the user experience. This also gives a huge platform for developers with over 5,000 new Apps to be used in applications. The Android Lollipop code previously called as Android L and this update will be start updating automatically in latest Nexus hardware sets like Nexus 9. However, Google assured that Nexus devices and Google Play editions will be receiving the Lollipop updates in a fewer weeks. Motorola also confirmed Moto E also gets the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
Along with Android 5.0, Google also unveiled devices like Motorola’s Nexus 6 and HTC’s Nexus 9.
